My primary area of research focuses on contentious politics. I examine how GMOs became objects of contention. My first book, The Politics of Genetically Modified Organisms in the United States and Europe, was published by Palgrave Macmillan 2016. In it, I explore the reasons why genetically modified foods remain such a contentious topic capable of mobilizing resistance on both sides of the Atlantic. I have an additional article under review.

Growing Monstrous Organisms? The Power of (In)Visibility for Shaping the Politics of Food My keynote speech presented at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, October 2019.
